Come November 13th 2015, all you die hard Tribe fans will be able to purchase something special: Sony Legacy and A Tribe Called Quest have announced they will be rereleasing their debut album ‘People’s Instinctive Travels And The Paths Of Rhythm’ as part of the albums twenty-fifth anniversary!
The original album was released April 10th 1990, and is remembered for such classic hits as ‘Bonita Applebum’ ‘I left my wallet in El Segundo’ and of course ‘Can I Kick It?’
Back then, and in particular for their debut album, the group consisted of four members: Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Phife Dwag and Jarobi White.
Q-Tip has since revealed that he had the concept for the album in his head for years. He was able to bring his dream to reality with the three other Tribe members, but what makes it even more remarkable is that Tip had these thoughts as a 16 year old!
The rerelease of People’s Instinctive Travels….will be remastered from the original tapes, and will also contain remixes from Emcee’s whose careers have been inspired by Tribe.
In fact, Pharrell Williams has remixed ‘Bonita Applebum’ and is one of three remixes. The others: a ‘Footprints’ remix with CeeLo Green and a ‘Can I Kick It?’ remix featuring J.Cole.
I can’t wait y’all….
